Just had the most amaaaaaaaazinng time at La Parada. The service was exquisite brought to us by the greatest sever ever.....CARLOS. This guy - amazing. The food came in a reasonable amount of time and my niece pearl said that lemonade was bomb AF. Guacamole - not so much. Queso, housemade salsa, shrimp chimichanga and pork tacos insanely good.

    5 goddamn stars.

This Mexican restaurant is right of New York St., 3 min away from Mass Ave. I like going here because their food is good and the service is good as well, I went here yesterday because Taco Tuesday. They don't have taco Tuesday specials, but I got Arroz con pollo. I like that they have a lot of Mexican dished from tacos to barrias (goat soup). I love their Horchatas! It gets very crowded sometimes but I just depends on the day, They have great alcoholic drinks too, like margaritas.

I am really thrilled about all the love La Parada gets because I sincerely believe it deserves it. Growing up I remember going to the smaller building located in front of the new restaurant and to see it fifteen years later standing strong and delivering kind and upbeat service to their clientele is very refreshing.

I'm glad I swung in for a Saturday night bite, the atmosphere can be a little hectic, understandably so, on a weekend night and it is a smaller venue where big groups will often take over the restaurant but in a odd way, it feels like a true Mexican home. Music, colorful walls and murals, busy chatter, and lots of hustle and bustle.

The service in my opinion surpassed the food, our server Carlos was the most upbeat, energetic guy for such a busy night!

Very extensive menu, tons of dip options, and ELOTES. I mean I'm sold! Their house salsa is a must that comes topped with freshly chopped cilantro and onions. I ordered myself classic veggie tostadas and was not disappointed.

Do try out La Parada and witness for yourself why this is a classic Indy Gem.

Riding through the area with my Coworker and she said "Pull in there, Its amazing" LOL! I parked my car without any hesitation. We were seated immediately and since we were pressed for time, we got something quick! She suggested shrimp/chicken tacos and Elotes. I ordered and it was BOMB! Im def coming back after hours to try something else on the menu and one of those huge margaritas... you know, so I can enjoy myself properly ; )

I don't get to this part of town very often, so I made a point of coming here to try one of their lunches.  The restaurant is located on east bound New York Street (fortunately State Street allows access from the north or south).  As soon as I entered through the double door entry, I was greeted and seated at one of the colorfully decorated boths that fill the dining area.  There was also some single seats at the bar near the entrance.

I was impressed with the service here.  My server, Sonia, was friendly and brought out each item so fast that I wasn't finished with the previous one.  Okay, that can be bad if you are eating a steak, but for Mexican food, it was delightful!

I started with the complementary bowl of salsa and chips.  Pretty standard stuff, but the salsa was topped with fresh chopped onion and cilantro.  Nice touch and it definitely upped the flavor.

Next arrived my Elote (Mexican Street Corn).  Arriving on a stick, the cob was covered with mayo, cotijo cheese, and paprika.  If you haven't tried this, you are missing out.  Layers of flavor and just fun (and a little messy) to eat.

My entree, the chimichanga arrived and I immediately knew I was going to need a to go box.  I chose a seasoned ground beef for my filling and was given sides of beans and rice.  I was a little surprised that there weren't bigger pieces of onion and bell pepper inside, but there were jalapeno slices.  The flavor was delightful.

Checkout was quick and orderly as I paid the waitress.

I don't have the background to comment on authenticity, but I can say that the flavor was good throughout and the friendly service was deserving of a 5 star visit!
